When I was invited on The Brandon Peters Show to discuss Buffy the Vampire Slayer, well…that was an easy “Hell YES!”.

This movie, and the subsequent TV series, will always have a special place in my heart (I mean, I named my dog “Spike”)┬áso I jumped at the opportunity…not just to discuss the film itself, but to connect elements and themes that directly relate to what I do every day (why, yes, I am a vampire slayer…it’s not a choice, it’s a calling).

…like how analogous Buffy’s story arc in the film is to the journey of spiritual awakening…

…how themes of masculine/feminine energies play out with this strong female lead…

…how humor always has a place in life, even when you’re slaying vampires (real or metaphorical)…

…how the wounded human underneath is the cause of the troubles in our world and why it’s critical to heal those wounded parts within us…and to separate the wounded human elements of the artist from the art itself…
