Writing has always been my preferred medium. I wrote in a previous post how much I love words, how they light me up and provide the outlet for my particular brand of creative expression.
When I got a hit about six weeks ago that I should do a podcast, I completely dismissed it.
I’m a writer. That’s what I do. I write.
Podcast? Nah. I brushed it away. A podcast didn’t make sense, with so many other things I’m working on.
So the Universe sighed, and dialed the message up a notch. Around 6am the very next morning, I received the following text from my 78 year old father:
My internal responses to this text were two-fold:
- I didn’t know he knew the word “podcast” (note: never underestimate your parents…ever)
- Okaaaaaay, Universe…I see you there.
But that wasn’t quiiiiiiite enough either, because the Universe knows I have a history of being stubborn as a mule.
In the next week, I had no fewer than six people (who don’t even know each other) tell me I “need to do podcast”.
Woe be to he/she who ignores the nudges from the Universe. Another lesson I learned the hard way. (Tip: do not EVER ask the Universe for a “big neon Vegas-style sign”. It will give you one. You will not like it. A story for another day).
I tipped my proverbial hat, said “Okay…I hear you. I’ll do a podcast”. I confess I was also afraid the next “nudge” would be getting a giant microphone dropped on my head…the Universe can work like that sometimes.
So, gentle readers, I give to you…the Courage to Rise podcast, now available on iTunes and Spotify.
Subscribe to receive new episodes every week!
Humble request: I would be grateful if you feel moved to leave a five-star rating for the podcast, as it helps promote visibility and I hope to reach as many people as possible, for whoever is meant to hear these messages. Of course if you think it’s dog shit, no need to leave stars…go record your own podcast. 😉 I’d recommend locking your loud-mouth cat away from your recording studio…some things can’t be edited out. Free podcasting tip from me to you.
